Once they’ve earned the villagers’ trust, they work with them to build wells, increase their crop yields, sell their surplus and use the money to expand their farms. They fix broken equipment and show the villagers how to keep it running. They invent low-tech labour-saving devices. And they leave their African partners to do the rest for themselves."
